The Club was founded in 1946, The tree found on our logo, is not only just a old dead tree, but the famous Big Belly Oak, said to be 1000 years old and is located in the Savernake Forest,  the only area of ancient forest not owned by the crown, and its historical roots run as deep as some of the many ancient trees that survive in the forest today. 

It is also the emblem of Marlborough Town Council, who kindly gave us permission to use it. The founding Chairman was Eric Gross who owned Wirehaired Dachshunds and the club has been growing since then.

We hold a annual open show in the Spring, Ring Craft Training classes and Good Citizens Obedience Classes along with other events throughout the year.
